It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia

A closer look at the story

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia follows a group of friends who run Paddy's, a not-very-successful Irish pub in South Philadelphia. Charlie, Mac, Dennis and Dee are profoundly self-centred people who think of nothing but their own interests. They attempt to navigate the tricky adult matters of work, money and relationships, but their warped outlook and dubious decisions drag them into fresh trouble every time. Every scheme turns quickly into an uncomfortable, mortifying mess, and things usually get much worse before they get any better. Frank Reynolds, played by Danny DeVito, adds his own peculiar contribution to the chaos. Created by Rob Mac and developed with fellow cast members Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day, the series has aired since 2005, first on FX and then on FXX; Kaitlin Olson also stars in this pitch-black comedy.
