How I Met Your Mother

A closer look at the story

Years later, Ted Mosby sits his children down and begins to tell them a long story: the story of how he met their mother. Told largely in flashbacks, it is the story of Ted's search for his soulmate. On Ted's search for his soulmate, his greatest supporters are his four closest friends, Barney, Marshall, Lily and Robin. In this story, though, the journey matters as much as the destination. Created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, the series ran on CBS from 2005 for 9 seasons and 208 episodes; Josh Radnor, Neil Patrick Harris, Jason Segel, Alyson Hannigan and Cobie Smulders star in this much-loved comedy.
