A closer look at the story
Television's best-known family has made it to the big screen, and this time Homer causes more trouble than ever. Through one of his trademark blunders, he lets harmful waste get into the town's water, bringing Springfield to the brink of disaster. Things get so bad that the environmental agency seals the entire town under a gigantic dome, and the Simpson family are declared fugitives. Trying to fix the mess he has made, Homer and his family find themselves in a string of unlikely adventures. Written by James L. Brooks, Al Jean, Mike Scully and other writers from the series, the 87-minute 2007 animated film brings the family's familiar voice cast to the cinema in a comedy.
