Despicable Me

A closer look at the story

In a suburb full of bright flowers and friendly neighbours, Gru lives in the shabbiest house on the street. Together with his little helpers, he is determined to prove that he is the greatest supervillain in the world, and his latest plan is audacious: to steal the Moon. To carry it out, he adopts three young girls from an orphanage, Margo, Edith and Agnes, planning for them to be mere tools of the scheme. Once the girls enter his life, however, an unexpected bond grows between them, and Gru begins to question the criminal existence he has always known. Directed by Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud and written by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio, the 95-minute 2010 animated film, voiced by Steve Carell, Jason Segel, Russell Brand and Julie Andrews, is a warm comedy.
