Sing 2

A closer look at the story

Having turned the New Moon Theater into a huge success, Buster Moon is now chasing a much bigger dream: staging a brand-new production in dazzling Redshore City, on the stage of the Crystal Tower Theater. With no contacts to speak of, however, Buster and his troupe have to slip secretly into the offices of Crystal Entertainment, the company run by the cruel wolf boss Jimmy Crystal. There the team, made up of mother pig Rosita, rocker porcupine Ash, gorilla Johnny, elephant Meena and pig Gunter, makes an outrageous promise in their pitch: they will bring the legendary lion rock star Clay Calloway, who has withdrawn from public life, onto the stage for their show. Now Buster has to track down Clay, who has cut himself off from the world, and convince him to perform again. Garth Jennings writes and directs this 110-minute musical family animation from 2021, with Matthew McConaughey, Taron Egerton, Scarlett Johansson and Reese Witherspoon among the voice cast.
