Monster Mia

A closer look at the story

Following a string of problems at school, Mia is sent, together with her scruffy pet rat Quentin, to the mysterious Rotwood Academy. Its eerie atmosphere makes Mia's skin crawl. On top of that, she has a big secret: unlike the pupils here, she is not a monster but an ordinary human. Mia has to find a way out of the academy before the students discover the truth. Making matters even harder is the vice principal, Van Vlad. Van Vlad has a particular dislike of humans, and Mia is afraid he may already have seen through her act. Directed by Verena Fels, this 82-minute 2026 animated film features Lilian Jane Gartner as the voice of Mia, with Dunja Bernatzky, Verena Altenberger and Silvia Schneider also in the voice cast.
