Married... with Children

A closer look at the story

Al Bundy is a middle-aged, unsuccessful shoe salesman who has never got what he wanted out of life. Every day is spent at the same store, in a job he cannot stand, dealing with customers who want to try on shoes. Things are even worse at home, because Al's family is every bit as troubled as his life. His wife, Peggy, is famously lazy. His son is an awkward teenager who keeps failing, especially when it comes to girls. His daughter is a not-very-bright teenager who thinks about nothing but boys. As Al tries to provide for this odd family, he faces a fresh disappointment every day. Created by Michael G. Moye and Ron Leavitt and airing on FOX from 1987 for eleven seasons and 258 episodes, this sitcom stars Ed O'Neill, Katey Sagal, Christina Applegate and David Faustino.
