Kingsman: The Golden Circle

A closer look at the story

Kingsman: The Golden Circle opens with the secret service's headquarters reduced to ruins by an attack. A ruthless new villain has emerged and is holding the whole world hostage. Eggsy and Merlin have little choice but to start again almost from scratch. Their investigation leads them across the Atlantic to another spy outfit: the Statesman, an American agency founded at roughly the same time as Kingsman. The two elite organisations decide to pool their resources against their shared enemy. Both want the same thing: to rescue the world from this new threat. Saving the planet has almost become a habit for Eggsy. Matthew Vaughn directed this 141-minute action comedy from 2017, made jointly in Britain, the United States and Italy from a script co-written with Jane Goldman. Taron Egerton plays Eggsy, with Colin Firth, Julianne Moore, Mark Strong and Hanna Alström also in the cast.
