The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent

A closer look at the story

Nick Cage is going through a rough patch: he cannot land the roles he wants, feels creatively unsatisfied and is close to financial ruin. So he cannot turn down a strange offer that comes his way: a million dollars to attend the birthday party of Javi, a wealthy man who is his biggest fan. Cage gets along with Javi surprisingly well, and a warm friendship develops between them. Then a CIA operative makes contact with Cage, and everything changes: according to the agency, Javi has ties to a dark criminal world. Pulled into an undercover mission, Cage has to become the legend everyone thinks he is and draw on the most iconic characters he has played on screen to save himself and the people he loves. Directed by Tom Gormican, this 107-minute 2022 action comedy features Nicolas Cage as himself and Pedro Pascal as Javi.
