Kingsman: The Secret Service

A closer look at the story

Gary "Eggsy" Unwin lost his father on a secret mission when he was very young; all the family was left with was a medal and a phone number that could be used for help just once. Seventeen years later, still unemployed, Eggsy rings that number when he lands in trouble. The man who answers is Harry Hart, an agent who owes his life to Eggsy's father. Harry puts this rough but promising young man forward for the brutal training programme of a top-secret spy organisation answerable to no government. Just then, Valentine, a tech genius with twisted ideas, emerges as a threat to the entire world. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, who wrote it with Jane Goldman, the 129-minute 2015 film stars Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson and Mark Strong in a tongue-in-cheek spy action film.
