Lanterns

A closer look at the story

Lanterns tells the story of two police officers charged with keeping the peace across the galaxy, who this time run into a dark mystery on Earth. On one side is Hal Jordan, the seasoned legend of the Lanterns; on the other, John Stewart, a new and eager recruit who is only at the start of his journey. These two men, with very different experience and outlooks, team up to look into a killing deep in rural America. What looks like an ordinary killing, however, draws them into a mystery far deeper and darker than they expected. Local figures such as Sheriff Kerry Kane are also key parts of the investigation. Created by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof and Tom King and premiering on HBO in 2026, the series stars Kyle Chandler as Hal Jordan and Aaron Pierre as John Stewart.
