Carrie

A closer look at the story

The sudden, untimely death of her father throws Carrie White's world into turmoil. In the wake of that loss, she finds herself in a harsh environment she is not used to at all: a public high school. She soon faces a huge problem: a bullying scandal that spreads fast and rocks the whole community around her. The endless pressure of the social-media era and the careless cruelty people show one another make Carrie's burden heavier day by day. But these are not the only things changing in her world. As she enters adolescence, a mysterious power begins to stir inside her: telekinetic abilities that let her move objects with her mind. As these powers grow, Carrie has to confront difficult questions about herself and the people around her. Created by Mike Flanagan and released on Prime Video in 2026, this eight-episode series stars Summer H. Howell as Carrie, with Samantha Sloyan, Siena Agudong and Alison Thornton also in the cast.
