The Runner
The Runner: A mother who must keep running to save her son
A closer look at the story
Maia Marten is one of London's most brilliant lawyers. When she sets out for her run through the city streets one morning, she has no idea that her life is about to be shattered within minutes. Her phone rings, and the voice on the other end delivers chilling news: her son has been taken. The caller's instructions are clear and utterly ruthless. To get her son back, Maia has to keep running, follow every order without question and trust no one at all. In this breathless race through the city, each moment ruthlessly tests a mother's resolve to rescue her child. Maia is pushed to the very edge of her physical and mental endurance. Directed by Kevin Macdonald and written by Mark Gibson, this 86-minute 2026 thriller stars Gal Gadot and Damian Lewis.
