John Wick
John Wick: A retired hitman returns to settle a debt
A closer look at the story
John Wick, once a hitman, has left that life and is living out a quiet retirement, until his wife's grave illness turns his life upside down. The one precious thing she leaves him is Daisy, a dog who becomes his constant companion. Then three gangsters force their way into his home and kill her. One of the intruders is Iosef, son of the powerful crime boss Viggo Tarasov. Having nothing more to lose, John steps back into the world he once walked away from, determined to hunt down the men who took everything from him. His pursuit becomes a relentless chase through the streets of New York. Chad Stahelski directed this 101-minute action thriller from 2014, which was written by Derek Kolstad. Keanu Reeves stars as John Wick, Michael Nyqvist plays Viggo Tarasov and Alfie Allen is Iosef Tarasov, while Willem Dafoe and Dean Winters complete the main cast.
