In a bleak future ruled by machines, the artificial intelligence in control sends a nearly indestructible cyborg assassin, the Terminator, back to 1984. Its target is Sarah Connor, an ordinary young woman; the son she has not yet had will one day lead the human resistance. The resistance sends its own lone soldier back in time: Kyle Reese, charged with keeping Sarah alive. The relentless pursuit that follows turns her life upside down in a single night. Written by James Cameron with Gale Anne Hurd and directed by Cameron, this 108-minute 1984 film stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton and fuses suspense with science fiction.
