Ted Lasso
Ted Lasso: An American coach who knows nothing about soccer
A closer look at the story
Ted Lasso is a cheerful, upbeat coach who has led American football teams back in the States. One day he receives an offer he never expected: to manage a soccer team in England. The catch is that Ted has no experience of the sport whatsoever. He accepts anyway and moves across the Atlantic. The welcome he receives is far from warm: cynical, self-assured players and a town with no faith in him at all. Ted tries to make up for what he does not know with optimism, kindness and his belief in people. His aim is not just to win matches but to get everyone around him to believe in the Ted Lasso Way. Created by Jason Sudeikis, Bill Lawrence, Brendan Hunt and Joe Kelly and launched on Apple TV in 2020, this comedy-drama stars Jason Sudeikis as Ted, with Hannah Waddingham and Brett Goldstein also in the cast.
