The Incredible Hulk: A scientist on the run from the monster within
A closer look at the story
Scientist Bruce Banner is searching for a way to rid himself of the overwhelming force that emerges when he is enraged: the Hulk. To hide from those hunting him, he has built a life out of sight in the crowded neighbourhoods of Rio, even accepting separation from Betty Ross, the love of his life. But the military men who dream of turning the Hulk's strength into a weapon, above all Betty's father, General Thunderbolt Ross, will not let him go. When Banner is forced back into civilisation, he runs into a fresh adversary as powerful and dangerous as he is: the soldier Emil Blonsky. Louis Leterrier directs from Zak Penn's script; the 114-minute 2008 film stars Edward Norton, Liv Tyler, Tim Roth and William Hurt in a superhero action film.
