The Treehouse

A closer look at the story

For a romantic weekend away, a couple books a treehouse perched high above the ground in the middle of a forest. During the night, however, everything changes. The woman wakes with a jolt, and a horrifying moment unfolds before her eyes: her partner falls from the cabin and dies on the spot. What began as a romantic weekend instantly becomes a dark nightmare. Left alone in the treehouse high in the forest, the woman tries to make sense of what has happened amid her shock and fear. What lies behind this night becomes an increasingly chilling question. Written and directed by Luis Calderón, this 2025 Spanish horror film stars Sandra Escacena, Claudio Portalo, Kandido Uranga and Mala Rodríguez.
