It: A summer in Derry and an evil that preys on children

KINONOOK / EN

A closer look at the story

In the summer of 1989, children are disappearing one after another in the small town of Derry, Maine. Seven friends who call themselves the Losers Club are already dealing with bullies at school and trouble at home when they come face to face with something far older and darker: an entity that wakes roughly every 27 years and often appears as a clown called Pennywise. Forced to confront their worst fears, the children realise they can only hold out by sticking together. Andy Muschietti brings Stephen King's novel to the screen in this 2017 film, which features Jaeden Martell, Sophia Lillis and Finn Wolfhard in a horror story that is also about friendship and growing up.
