Split
Split: Twenty-three personalities in one mind and three girls trying to escape
A closer look at the story
Dr. Fletcher, the psychiatrist Kevin trusts, has met at least twenty-three distinct personalities in him, yet another one, unknown even to her, is on the verge of emerging. Driven by some of these identities, Kevin abducts three teenage girls and holds them in an unknown location. Casey, the calmest and most observant of the three, studies each personality as it surfaces, every one speaking and behaving differently, in search of a way out. Written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the 2017 film is a psychological thriller anchored by James McAvoy's shape-shifting performance, with Anya Taylor-Joy and Betty Buckley.
