Django Unchained

A closer look at the story

Two years before the American Civil War breaks out, the enslaved Django crosses paths with Dr. King Schultz, a German bounty hunter. Schultz grants Django his freedom in return for his help, and the two become partners. Django soon proves himself a formidable bounty hunter, but his real goal lies elsewhere: to free his wife Broomhilda from Calvin Candie, a cruel plantation owner in Mississippi. Quentin Tarantino's own script and direction shape this 165-minute 2012 film, which stars Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Leonardo DiCaprio, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson in a hard-edged western drama.
