The Wolf of Wall Street

A closer look at the story

Jordan Belfort arrives on Wall Street as a young man determined to get rich. He learns the trade as a stockbroker, then takes charge of a firm called Stratton Oakmont and builds an astonishing fortune by pushing worthless shares onto investors. Spending his earnings just as quickly on drugs, parties and outrageous luxury, Belfort finds his rise put to the test by a major securities fraud investigation. Drawn from Belfort's own memoir, directed by Martin Scorsese and scripted by Terence Winter, the 180-minute 2013 film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jonah Hill, Margot Robbie, Matthew McConaughey and Kyle Chandler in a wild crime comedy.
