Train Dreams

A closer look at the story

In the early twentieth century, America is in the middle of a sweeping transformation. Old ways of life are giving way to new ones. In the midst of this turbulent era lives a logger who leads a simple, quiet life. Far from any kind of show, keeping to himself, this man meets what life offers him with patience and grace. Over the course of his life, he experiences both a deep love and a great loss. As he tries to keep pace with a changing world, he searches within himself for the meaning of love, grief and endurance. Directed by Clint Bentley and adapted by Bentley and Greg Kwedar from Denis Johnson's novel, this 102-minute 2025 drama stars Joel Edgerton and Felicity Jones.
