Train to Busan

A closer look at the story

Seok-woo is so absorbed in his work that he barely has time for his daughter, Soo-ahn, but he gives in to her birthday wish and boards the express from Seoul to take her to her mother in Busan. Moments after departure, a passenger showing strange symptoms becomes the first link in an outbreak that spreads through the carriages. As the country slides into a state of emergency, the people trapped on board have to survive both the danger outside and the selfishness of those around them. Directed by Yeon Sang-ho from a script by Park Joo-suk, the 2016 film stars Gong Yoo, Kim Su-an, Jung Yu-mi and Don Lee in an action-packed zombie thriller built around a father and daughter.
