Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials

A closer look at the story

Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials begins after Thomas and his friends have broken out of the Maze. They may have left it behind, but an even greater test now lies ahead: finding clues about WCKD, the secretive and powerful organisation. Their search leads them into the Scorch, a barren, scorched wasteland littered with obstacles beyond imagining. Thomas and the other Gladers soon realise they cannot survive there on their own strength alone, so they join forces with a group of fighters resisting WCKD. As they stand up to the organisation's overwhelmingly larger army, they also begin to bring to light the startling plans WCKD has in store for every one of them. Wes Ball took the director's chair for this 131-minute 2015 sequel, adapted by T.S. Nowlin from James Dashner's novel. Dylan O'Brien plays Thomas, with Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Giancarlo Esposito and Ki Hong Lee also in the cast.
