Seinfeld follows the everyday lives of stand-up comedian Jerry Seinfeld and his three decidedly odd friends in 1990s New York. By its own description, this is a show "about nothing": instead of big events, ordinary moments, petty fixations and simple ideas turn into unexpected, laugh-filled situations. The characters around Jerry are every bit as memorable as he is. Elaine Benes, who cannot make up her mind about almost anything; George Costanza, who wears everyone out with his endless insecurities; and Cosmo Kramer, with his strange charisma and wild ideas, weather the little pitfalls and rewards of city life together. Created by Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David, this sitcom began on NBC in 1989 and ran for nine seasons, with Jerry Seinfeld playing himself alongside Jason Alexander, Michael Richards and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
