The Naked Gun

A closer look at the story

If anyone has the peculiar talents required to run Police Squad and rescue the planet, it is Frank Drebin Jr. Walking the path his legendary father once walked, Frank faces a tough assignment this time. Police Squad is on the verge of being shut down, and the only way to save the unit is to crack a complicated murder case. Crossing paths with characters such as Ed Hocken Jr. and Beth Davenport, Frank tries to uncover the shadowy connections behind the case. Frank's own peculiar methods, however, often create far more chaos than solutions, and every decision made in deadly earnest turns into unexpected absurdity. Directed by Akiva Schaffer, who wrote it with Dan Gregor and Doug Mand, this 85-minute 2025 police comedy stars Liam Neeson as Frank, with Pamela Anderson and Paul Walter Hauser also in the cast.
