Casino Royale
Casino Royale: Bond's first mission is at a poker table
A closer look at the story
Based on Ian Fleming's first 007 novel, the story follows Le Chiffre, a banker who handles the money of terrorists around the world, as he prepares to sit down at a poker table in Montenegro where the stakes are enormous. His plan is to use the money he wins to strengthen his hold over the funding of terror. M sends James Bond, fresh from earning his 00 status, to join the game and make sure Le Chiffre does not walk away a winner. Assisted by Felix Leiter and Vesper Lynd, Bond sits down to the most important poker game of a career that is already full of danger. Directed by Martin Campbell, the 144-minute 2006 film stars Daniel Craig, Eva Green, Mads Mikkelsen and Judi Dench in a spy action film.
