A closer look at the story

Set in the early years of the twentieth century, the film tells of the events that led to the founding of the secret intelligence agency Kingsman. A group of the most notorious tyrants and criminal masterminds the world has known is secretly gathering to plot a war that will cost millions of lives. As the great powers of Europe drift towards catastrophe, the one man who can stop this dark scheme has to race against time. Orlando Oxford, together with Polly and Morton, takes on dangerous enemies, among them Grigori Rasputin. A notable touch is that King George, Kaiser Wilhelm and Tsar Nicholas are all played by the same actor, Tom Hollander. Directed by Matthew Vaughn, the 131-minute 2021 film stars Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans and Matthew Goode in a spy action film.
