The Amazing Spider-Man 2: A promise to Gwen and the threat of Electro
A closer look at the story
In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Peter Parker has never been busier. Between fighting criminals as Spider-Man and making room for Gwen Stacy, the girl he loves, he can hardly wait for high-school graduation. Peter still remembers promising Mr. Stacy that he would protect Gwen by staying out of her life, but it is a vow he simply cannot honour. His world is shaken again when a powerful new villain called Electro appears, and Peter also has to take on Rhino. At the same time his old friend Harry Osborn comes back into his life. In the midst of all this, Peter stumbles on fresh clues about his own past. Marc Webb directed this 141-minute action adventure from 2014, from a script by Jeff Pinkner, Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman. Andrew Garfield plays Peter Parker and Emma Stone plays Gwen Stacy, with Jamie Foxx as Electro, Dane DeHaan as Harry Osborn and Colm Feore also in the cast.
