Law & Order: Criminal Intent

A closer look at the story

Law & Order: Criminal Intent is the third series in the Law & Order franchise, and it approaches crime from a different angle. The show takes viewers not only into the investigation but also deep inside the minds of the people who commit the crimes. At the centre of the stories is the Major Case Squad, which handles large and complicated cases. Its detectives rely on intensive psychological techniques to crack their cases, aiming to reach the truth by understanding how suspects think, what drives them and where they are vulnerable. Robert Goren and Alexandra Eames are among the squad's leading detectives. Each episode works out step by step how and why a crime was committed while shedding light on the darker sides of human nature. Created by Dick Wolf, beginning on NBC before continuing on USA Network, and lasting ten seasons and 195 episodes after its 2001 debut, this crime drama stars Vincent D'Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe, Courtney B. Vance and Jamey Sheridan.
