Game of Thrones

A closer look at the story

The great houses of Westeros compete for influence over the Iron Throne, and the rivalry between them soon hardens into open war. Shifting alliances and betrayals keep every family's position uncertain. Far to the north, an ancient danger is stirring beyond the Wall, and the only force standing in its way is the Night's Watch, an overlooked order of outcasts. Created by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, the HBO series began in 2011 and concluded in 2019 after eight seasons and 73 episodes, with a large ensemble including Peter Dinklage, Kit Harington, Lena Headey and Emilia Clarke in a fantasy epic built on political intrigue.
