Bleach

A closer look at the story

Ichigo Kurosaki is an otherwise ordinary student for whom spirits of the dead have always been visible. Living with his father and siblings at the clinic the family runs, Ichigo treats this ability as a strange but familiar part of life. That is, until one night Rukia Kuchiki enters his room. Rukia is a Soul Reaper whose job is to fight the malevolent spirits known as Hollows, and she is astonished that Ichigo can see her. In the chaos of a fight against a Hollow that night, Rukia is forced to pass her powers on to Ichigo. Filled with this new spiritual power, Ichigo finds the purpose he was meant for: shielding both the living and the departed from evil. As he starts fighting Hollows alongside Rukia, his life is changed forever. Launched on TV Tokyo in 2004, this action anime features Masakazu Morita as the voice of Ichigo and Fumiko Orikasa as Rukia.
