A closer look at the story
Having failed to keep his promise to bring Sasuke home, Naruto spends roughly two and a half years away from his village training with the master Jiraiya to become stronger. Sakura, meanwhile, has been honing her own skills as Tsunade's student. When Naruto returns to Konoha his goal has not changed, but now he must also contend with the Akatsuki, an organisation of dangerous ninja pursuing hidden aims. Reunited with old friends, he faces tougher trials than ever as he tries to rescue his friend and protect his village. First broadcast on TV Tokyo in 2007 and recorded at 20 seasons and 500 episodes, the anime features the voices of Junko Takeuchi, Noriaki Sugiyama and Chie Nakamura in a long-running adventure about friendship and determination.
