The Pitt

A closer look at the story

The Pitt zooms in on the lives of the medical professionals who staff the emergency department at a trauma centre in Pittsburgh. The department is overcrowded and short of resources; even so, the doctors, nurses and other staff work non-stop, day and night, to save lives. Every day, badly injured and critically ill patients come through the doors, and every case tests the team's knowledge, stamina and composure. But the burden of the job is not only physical; patients' suffering, losses and hard decisions place a heavy emotional weight on the staff, both inside the hospital and in their lives outside it. Characters such as Dr. Michael "Robby" Robinavitch, Dr. Frank Langdon and charge nurse Dana Evans are at the centre of this demanding world. Created by R. Scott Gemmill and streaming on Max since 2025, this medical drama stars Noah Wyle.
