Ice Age: The Meltdown

A closer look at the story

The long deep freeze is over, and Manny, Sid and Diego are enjoying a warmer world. But those pleasant days come at a cost: the melting ice is about to flood the valley where they live. The impending disaster brings the trio back together to warn the other animals and set off on a hard journey to the far end of the valley. Along the way Manny, who dreams of having a family, meets Ellie, who may be the last female mammoth on Earth; the trouble is that Ellie believes she is a possum, not a mammoth, and she travels with her two wild possum brothers, Crash and Eddie. Directed by Carlos Saldanha, the 91-minute 2006 sequel, which adds Queen Latifah as Ellie and Seann William Scott as Crash, makes for a comic family adventure.
