Insidious: Chapter 3 — Elise Rainier's reluctant return
A closer look at the story
Insidious: Chapter 3 goes back in time to before the Lamberts' ordeal began. Teenager Quinn Brenner tries to call out to the other side in an attempt to reach her late mother. The one who answers, however, is not her mother but a dark and extremely dangerous entity. Soon targeted by this supernatural force, the girl turns for help to the gifted psychic Elise Rainier. Elise can communicate with the dead, but at first she is reluctant to use that gift. But to save the girl from this deadly trap, she agrees to open the uncanny doors of the spirit world once more. Written and directed by Leigh Whannell, the 97-minute 2015 film stars Stefanie Scott, Lin Shaye and Dermot Mulroney in a supernatural horror.
