Shrek Forever After

A closer look at the story

Shrek is living a peaceful family life in the swamp with Fiona, yet deep down he feels trapped and longs for the days when he was a real ogre who frightened people. His midlife crisis leads him to Rumpelstiltskin, a sly dealer in magical bargains. The deal he signs, however, is a trap: Shrek wakes up in a warped alternative of his kingdom. Here Rumpelstiltskin wears the crown, ogres are being hunted down and, worst of all, Shrek and Fiona have never met. Shrek has to race against time to restore his own world and win back his true love. Directed by Mike Mitchell, the 93-minute 2010 film, with Walt Dohrn voicing Rumpelstiltskin, is a fairy-tale comedy.
