A closer look at the story
Years have passed since the Clone Wars began, and the Jedi Knights command a vast clone army in the galaxy-wide war against the Separatists. Behind the scenes, though, a far greater danger is ripening: the plan the sinister Sith have been patiently weaving for a thousand years in order to rule the galaxy finally comes to light. As the Republic starts to crack, the promising young Jedi Anakin Skywalker must decide which side he is on. That choice will shape not only his own destiny but the fate of the entire galaxy. George Lucas wrote and directed this 140-minute 2005 film, which stars Hayden Christensen, Ewan McGregor, Natalie Portman, Ian McDiarmid and Samuel L. Jackson in an epic space drama.
