Man of Steel

A closer look at the story

Sent to Earth from the dying planet Krypton, the infant Kal-El is raised in Kansas by Martha and Jonathan Kent under the name Clark Kent. Growing up, he realises he possesses remarkable abilities and is not from this world, but understanding the responsibility those powers carry is far from easy. As a young man, he sets off to learn where he came from and why he was sent here. When General Zod appears, intent on avenging Krypton and conquering Earth, Clark must save humanity from destruction and become a symbol of hope. Directed by Zack Snyder from a screenplay by David S. Goyer, the 143-minute 2013 film stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane and Russell Crowe in a superhero origin story.
