A closer look at the story

Dune: Part Three is set almost twenty years after Paul Atreides took control of the Imperium. Paul is now a merciless Emperor who has to face the fallout of his rule. As familiar allies from the past return, frightening new dangers also loom on the horizon, and treachery seems to wait in every corner. Paul's mind, meanwhile, is occupied by two great shadows: visions foretelling the fall of the Imperium, and the return of a love he lost long ago. In the midst of this turmoil, Paul is pulled into a vast conspiracy that unfolds layer by layer, with Chani at its centre. With unrest boiling over and his foes drawing ever closer, Paul must reckon with what power truly costs and with the fate of the people dearest to him. Directed by Denis Villeneuve from Frank Herbert's source novel, who wrote the screenplay with Brian K. Vaughan, this 140-minute 2026 science-fiction film stars Timothée Chalamet as Paul and Zendaya as Chani, with Jason Momoa, Florence Pugh and Rebecca Ferguson also in the cast.
