A closer look at the story

Cameras are everywhere, watching, listening and recording. At the heart of this web of surveillance, the mysterious and reclusive billionaire Harold Finch has developed a computer program that can identify crimes before they are committed. What he needs, though, is someone who can act on the information it provides. That person is John Reese, a former CIA paramilitary operative who is officially listed as dead. When Reese's covert-operations training and instincts are combined with Finch's software genius and technological resources, the result is the perfect team. Working outside the law and using their own methods, the pair set out to stop violent crimes in New York before they take place and make sure the right criminals end up behind bars. Created by Jonathan Nolan and airing on CBS from 2011 for five seasons and 103 episodes, this crime drama stars Jim Caviezel and Michael Emerson.
