Jack Reacher

A closer look at the story

In a quiet town on an unremarkable morning, five people are gunned down in what looks like a random attack. Every clue leads to one man, a former military sniper, who is swiftly taken into custody. In the interrogation room he writes just one note: "Get Jack Reacher." The man in question, an enigmatic former Army investigator, thinks the police have arrested the right person, but he agrees to help the suspect's lawyer, Helen Rodin. Yet the deeper he digs, the murkier the case becomes, and Reacher finds himself facing an unexpected adversary who is dangerously skilled and hiding something. Adapted from Lee Child's novel and directed by Christopher McQuarrie, the 130-minute 2012 film stars Tom Cruise, Rosamund Pike, Richard Jenkins and Werner Herzog in a mystery thriller.
