The Grinch
The Grinch: A green recluse determined to steal Christmas
A closer look at the story
Far from Whoville, the Grinch lives in a mountaintop cave that nobody dares to approach, with only his loyal dog Max for company. He is perfectly happy with his quiet, peaceful life; his one nightmare is the endless festive cheer that sweeps through the Whos every year as the holidays draw near. When it is announced that this year's celebrations will be bigger than ever, the Grinch's patience snaps and a sneaky plan takes shape: he will dress up as Santa Claus and steal Christmas from the Whos. Meanwhile, little Cindy-Lou, who lives in the village, has a very different plan in mind: to catch Santa with her friends on Christmas Eve and thank him for the help he has given her mother. When the two plans collide, the fate of Christmas could change. Directed by Yarrow Cheney and Scott Mosier, the 85-minute 2018 film features the voice of Benedict Cumberbatch in a family animation.
