Michael

A closer look at the story

Michael follows the life of Michael Jackson, an artist whose influence the world has rarely matched, reaching beyond his music. The film begins with the days when his extraordinary talent was first recognised as the lead singer of the Jackson Five and follows his transformation into a visionary artist, driven by creative passion and racing tirelessly towards his goal of becoming the greatest entertainer on the planet. His life away from the stage and the most iconic performances from the early years of his solo career sit at the heart of the story. Michael Jackson is played by his real-life nephew Jaafar Jackson, with Colman Domingo as his father Joseph Jackson and Nia Long as his mother Katherine Jackson. Antoine Fuqua directs from a John Logan script; the 128-minute 2026 release is a biographical drama about the rise of a music legend.
