Heart of the Beast

A closer look at the story

Special Forces officer James Belmont lives through a nightmare when the plane he is on comes down in the remote, unforgiving terrain of Alaska. Having survived the crash, Belmont has only one companion: his trained combat dog, Odin. Stranded miles from civilisation in the middle of a vast wilderness, the two face a new test of survival every day. Freezing cold, brutal weather, scarce resources and the predators roaming the area are a constant threat. Belmont must make full use of the survival skills he acquired during his military training. Odin, meanwhile, is not just a loyal friend but his greatest safeguard in this gruelling struggle. The strong bond between the soldier and his dog plays a decisive part in their search for a way out. David Ayer directs this 101-minute 2026 adventure thriller from a Cameron Alexander script, starring Brad Pitt as James Belmont, with J.K. Simmons and Anna Lambe also in the cast.
