Facing El Chapo

A closer look at the story

For two Mexican police officers, the day is passing like any other. Only a few hours are left on their shift, and all they want is to get home without trouble. But the man inside the car they pull over at a routine traffic check changes everything. The person standing before them is one of the world's most wanted criminals, the ruthless cartel boss Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán. Once they realise this, the situation spins out of control in an instant. The two officers may now have to pay the price for crossing the cartel's power. The last hours of their shift become a tense, breathless struggle to survive. Directed by Chava Cartas and written by Bernardo Esquinca, this 91-minute 2026 Mexican action thriller stars Alfonso Herrera, Noé Hernández and Hector Kotsifakis.
