Dune

A closer look at the story

Paul, the young heir of the noble House Atreides, has been born into a destiny that even he cannot fully grasp. When his father, Duke Leto, is handed control of a hostile and perilous world, Paul travels with his family to this desert world. The planet is the sole source of a resource of almost unimaginable value, and the rivalry between the powers that want to control it soon erupts into open conflict. The special training he has received from his mother, Lady Jessica, and the strange dreams that visit him draw Paul to the centre of the struggle. Adapted from Frank Herbert's novel and directed by Denis Villeneuve, the 2021 film stars Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac and Jason Momoa in the first part of a vast science-fiction epic.
