Inception
Inception: A heist staged inside the dreaming mind
A closer look at the story
Dom Cobb specialises in a very particular kind of theft: he slips into people's dreams and lifts the secrets they keep buried. The skill has made him valuable in the world of corporate espionage, but it has also cost him the life he once had. Then comes an offer that could give that life back, along with a job that reverses everything he knows: instead of taking an idea, his team must plant one so subtly that the target believes it arose naturally. Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, the 2010 film brings together Leonardo DiCaprio, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Elliot Page and Tom Hardy in a layered science-fiction thriller where every level of a dream follows its own rules.
