A closer look at the story

Ali Vefa, a young man with autism and savant syndrome, has dreamed of becoming a doctor since childhood. Having completed his medical training despite every obstacle, he leaves his provincial home for Istanbul to start as a surgical resident at Berhayat Hospital, where his mentor and father figure Adil Erinç is chief physician. The hospital's board, however, does not believe that someone with autism can be a surgeon, and Ali has to prove himself from his very first day. As he demonstrates his exceptional talent case by case, he also learns about friendship, rivalry and first love among his colleagues. A Turkish version of South Korea's Good Doctor, broadcast on FOX from 2019 for two seasons and 64 episodes, the series stars Taner Ölmez, Onur Tuna and Sinem Ünsal.
